Mexican architect Teodoro Gonzalez de Leon dies

Foto: Crestomatía | The architect and Mexican painter Teodoro Gonzalez de Leon, emeritus creator of the National System of Art Creators, whom the design of places like the Tamayo Museum and the University Museum of Contemporary Art (MUAC, for its acronym in Spanish), died this morning at age 90 old.

This was confirmed by the president of the Federal Ministry of Culture, Rafael Tovar y de Teresa, who in his twitter account wrote ” Teodoro Gonzalez de Leon died, an icon of world architecture. My condolences to his relatives and to the artistic community”.

Meanwhile, Roberto Perea, director of Broadcasting and Public Relations of the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA, for its acronym in Spanish) explained that the death of Gonzalez de Leon was at 04:00 hours on Friday and that his remains will be transferred to the French Cemetery, where the attendance of cultural authorities, friends and family are expected.
